Our mission is to introduce children aged 6-16 to the diverse world of coding and tech by running exciting, term-time clubs with individually tailored, hands-on challenges using games, Minecraft and Virtual Reality.

As a Club Leader you’ll use the tools we give you, as well as your infectious enthusiasm, to inspire young people to develop their love of coding and technology.

The position is part-time with a minimum of 22 hours per week - with potential overtime up to 40 hours a week.

 

Our ideal candidate:

Loves working with children and helping them learn new skills.
Passionate about technology.
Is a keen gamer.
Has a favourite Pokémon.
Great at communicating and able to make learning fun.
Strong IT literacy. Not specifically in code - we use a simple drag and drop interface, and you'll get lots of training on how to use this.
Super confident around children.
Available during our core hours of Monday to Friday afternoons, between 3pm and 8 pm, plus weekend gaming clubs where you're keen!
A creative personality, and can come up with original ideas for our new mini-projects and activities.

Duties:

Co-leading in-person coding and tech clubs, for children between 6-16 years of age.
Utilising Virtual Reality, robots and video games to teach programming to children.
Nurturing and supporting the children’s coding development and creations.
Stopping Paul from getting drones stuck.

Must-haves:

Ideally you have a driving licence and use of a car, however, there is the potential opportunity to car pool with colleagues. You will be running clubs in Cambridge/Trumpington, Saffron Walden, Bishop's Stortford, Bury St Edmunds and Haverhill.
Reliable and professional.
Infectious enthusiasm.

Nice to have's (not essential):

Some teaching or coaching experience would be handy.
In-depth knowledge of Pokémon.

We provide:

Full training and support.
First Aid training where required
All leaders will require a DBS check, which we will do.
All equipment and club content - leaders are responsible for looking after and identifying/resolving minor or major issues with equipment. You will receive full training and support on how to do this.
Additional hours at weekends
A great sense of achievement getting children ready for our growing technical world.
